Mission Objective #3 – Sensor Payload

 

Background

Describe the mission objectives for your sensor payload. Did you have any additional sensors that you decided to incorporate? Describe what you are attempting to do with your sensors.

 

Sensors

  • Describe in detail what your sensors detect

 

SI1145 Light Sensor:
  • What does this sensor do? What kind of values does it give you? What are the units of measure, if any?

 

MP3115A2 Temperature/Pressure/Altitude Sensor:
  • Were you able to get both sensors working at the same time? Why or why not?
  • What does this sensor do? What kind of values does it give you? What are the units of measure, if any?

Parts List and Designs

  • List all the parts you designed and printed for your Mission Objective
  • A diagram with accurate dimensions must accompany your printed parts list.
  • Describe how you attached or will attach your sensor platform to the rover drive system.

Test Conditions

  • List the test conditions you used during testing of each sensor.
  • Descript the test procedure(s)
  • List the results of your testing for each procedure

Videos

  • Create a video of your testing sessions

 

Recommendations

  • What improvements and recommendations would you make to your design. Would you add other types of sensors to your sensor payload? Why or why not?
  • The SI1145 and MPL3115A2 sensors are not able to function at the same time on the same Arduino. Make a suggestion on how to make both work with your rover and sensor platform?
